So I have seen a lot of iPhone videos, pics, comments and etcetera, and I have come up with this brilliant conclusion: it's the interface that makes it unique/futuristic/amazing/whateveryouwannacallit.
Lets take a look at it's features:
1 _ "It's an Ipod:"
- Well in fact it's just a nano Ipod (4 or 8 Gig) with a kick ass interface. Touch screen, "big", nice 320 by 480 3.5-inch sceen, video and cover flow, both horizontal and vertical.
2 _ "Revolutionary Phone"
- From its interface, we get the selected voice mail, a great thing that we could think of as a "how could I lived without that for so long?". The rest is just about selecting by the "contacts" menu (by the name, instead of by the number). It's been years since I've remember a phone number, including my mom's and my girlfriends'. So the way we will be able to use the iPhone as just a cell phone is gonna be a better experience just because of its interface.
3 _ "Breakthrough internet device"
- Will it support flash and java. Even ajax? I see goggle maps is in it, but is it the "full version"? And even if it is, isn't it the interface that will get us going?
So I think all the revolutionary things in the iPhone turns outh to be about the interface (I really don't consider that win-mobile crap). And I think they did a very nice job overall. I'll be in line for shure.
